Andrew Hecker and Steven Kowalski began playing music together in 2013, forming Tin Foil a year later. Hecker and Kowalski, coworkers at various underground rock bars in Detroit (Outer Limits, Lager House), have both been playing live in Detroit bands for nearly twenty years. With two previous Tin Foil albums on Brooklyn’s Almost Ready Records, the band built a following across the Midwest and East Coast. Dubbed quintessential “Bartender Rock” by Creem Magazine, Tin Foil showcases a sound full of the jangly guitars, the experimental spirit of early Rust Belt punks, and the art-damaged slacker consciousness of The Velvet Underground. Now with a new lineup, joined by Kent Alexander and Ben Briggance, their third record has finally arrived. Chicken Sandwich was recorded over the course of a year in the studio with engineer Adam Cox. During those sessions, the band members got hot chicken sandwiches for lunch each day, guiding them to the album title. The LP is a split-release by Almost Ready and Sweet Time Records. Due out Aug. 29, the finished product is an expansive evolution from the band’s previous efforts.”
